Please join us on Saturday, November 17 for the 2018 Democracy in Action Conference at NHTI-Concord's Community College from 10am to 3pm in the Beverly Grappone Hall.   The College is located at 31 College Drive, Concord, NH and Grappone Hall is located at the edge of the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center parking lot.   Please note that you cannot park in the Discovery Center Parking lot.  Most anywhere else on campus is fine.

Registration will begin at 9:30 (We'll have coffee!) Open Democracy Executive Director Olivia Zink and radio host Arnie Arnesen will open the conference with welcome remarks.  

Our keynote speaker will be Nick Nyhart, formerly of Every Voice Center, a national non-profit dedicated to restoring balance to our political system.

Issues Workshops for the morning:

The 28th Amendment.  Led by Eric Benevides, Wolf-Pac; Ben Gubits, American Promise and Rep. Ellen Read. 

Voter Dollars: Public Funding of Elections. Led by Rick Bourdon & Olivia Zink, Open Democracy; Nick Nyhart, Every Voice Center.

Gerrymandering and Voter Rights.  Led by Kyri Claflin, Kent St. Coalition; Attorney Paul Twomey and Liz Wester, America Votes.

Skills Workshops for the afternoon:

Bird-Dog the Candidates. Led by Melissa Bernardin, LEAD-NH and Olivia Zink, Open Democracy.

Advocacy for Regular People: Getting Our Voices Heard at the State House. Led by Liz Tantarelli, League of Women Voters-NH and Steve Varnum, Open Democracy Action.

Social Media to Support Reform: Educating and Inspiring Others to Support Reform. Led by Zandra Rice Hawkins, Granite State Progress; Matt Murray, NH Labor News; Manuela Ekowo and Spencer Olson, ReThink Media. 

Regional Team Action Planning will take place after the workshops.
