John Lewis National Day of Commemoration and Action

July 17, 2024 marks the 4th anniversary of the passing of Congressman John Lewis. On that day, countless activists will come together in events across the country to commemorate his death and more importantly his life work to secure voting rights for all people.

As a part of this effort Open Democracy will be holding a Candlelight Vigil outside of Senator Maggie Hassan's Manchester office location. We will be holding candles in Congressman Lewis's memory and signs advocating for the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, the Freedom to Vote Act, and the Native American Voting Rights Act carrying on his mission of equal voting rights for all.
American Friends Service Committee-NH Program is a co-sponsor of this event.
